Hot Tub Tip Thursday: Clean Your Cover

The cover is a very important piece of the hot tub. Without it, who knows what might fall from the sky and invade your water. That’s why you want to make sure that your cover is on the top and kept clean. New covers generally last 6-7 years, but you can extend the life of the cover by using a product called cover shield. It looks like milk, but trust me, you don’t want to drink it. It will help preserve your cover for another 6-12 months and give it that new cover shine in the process. If you don’t have cover shield and are looking for a home solution, try diluting ArmorAll with water and spraying that on your cover.

Unfortunately, covers do have a shelf life. Over time they will begin to hold water, making this extremely heavy and difficult to lift. When you can no longer lift the cover by yourself, it’s probably time for a new cover.
